Urgent: Our Christian Brothers in Ukraine are Suffering—They Need Your Help Now!
Right now, as you read this, real Christians in Ukraine are facing severe persecution by their own government and military. Our brothers in Christ are being imprisoned illegally, beaten, humiliated, and denied food and water—all because they refuse to take up arms and go against their faith. This is happening right now, and they desperately need your help.
As followers of Christ, you cannot turn a blind eye. The Ukrainian government has promised protection for conscientious objectors under their Constitution (Article 35), yet military officers are violating these rights. Men are being dragged off the streets, forced into military service, and thrown into illegal jails when they refuse to fight.
These are not isolated incidents—they are happening all over Ukraine. Christian men are being taken away from their families, their churches, and subjected to horrific conditions simply for living out their pacifist beliefs. They are refusing to sign military contracts and being tortured for it. Some have been imprisoned for months or even years.
You cannot stand by and do nothing while your brothers are suffering. This is your moment to act.
Why are they persecuted?
The root of this persecution lies in the fact that many Protestant Christians in Ukraine, shaped by their history of suffering under Soviet rule, are pacifists. They believe deeply that they cannot, in good conscience, kill others—even in times of war. The Ukrainian Constitution has long recognized this, providing a legal framework for alternative service in place of military duty.
Yet despite these legal protections, military officials are ignoring the law. They are forcibly conscripting men who, by law, should be exempt from combat roles. This is happening in direct violation of Article 35 of the Ukrainian Constitution, which guarantees non-military service for Christians who oppose violence.
Twenty-five years ago, the Ukrainian government established an official list of eight Christian denominations whose members are exempt from bearing arms due to their religious beliefs. However, both the military and police are disregarding this law and the Constitution, motivated by a desire to avoid military service themselves by coercing Christians into service. This has led to increasingly harsh and unjust treatment of Ukrainian believers.
What can you do?
You can help save lives with just a small effort. Your country’s officials hold influence over Ukraine, especially during this time of war. If enough of us speak up, we can pressure the Ukrainian government to stop these illegal arrests and tortures.
All we are asking is that you download the sample letter above and send it to your local officials (your congressman, etc.) —whether they’re in your town, your state, or your country. Encourage them to speak to Ukraine’s leaders. Officials in your country can influence President Zelensky and his government because they rely on your nation’s support. With a single letter, you can be part of a movement to end this injustice.
Imagine this happening to you.
Picture yourself walking down your street, only to be grabbed by soldiers, thrown into an unmarked vehicle, and forced to fight. Your family wouldn’t know where you are, and your church would be powerless to help. That is the reality for many Christian men in Ukraine today. This is not just a political issue—it’s a matter of human dignity and religious freedom.
We need your voice.
Please don’t turn away from your brothers in Christ. They are pleading for your help, and this is your chance to make a real difference. Send the sample letter today. Let your officials know about the atrocities happening in Ukraine. They can make the calls that could save lives.
If you need more information or would like to speak with us, you can reach us at EndPersecutionNow@gmail.com. We are here to provide any additional details you might need.
Please, do not ignore this call. Our Christian brothers are counting on you.
Be blessed where you are, and let’s stand together in faith. THANK YOU!
